Foinhaven was built in 1998, and is owned by Raymond and Margaret Wishart, both originally from Orkney.
The accommodation is situated in Orphir, on a working croft, ten minutes’ drive from Kirkwall town centre, overlooking scenic sandy beach Waulkmill Bay, Orkney’s best-sheltered beach and recently voted one of Scotland’s top-ten beaches. Kirbister Loch is situated nearby and the fishing is free to everyone. There are also fantastic walks on your front doorstep. There are bus services available five minutes’ walk away, with links to and from Kirkwall and Houton daily, for those interested in visiting the island of Hoy.
